New health and safety guidelines from the Department of Education

You will be aware that Masterclass Sport Tours is a member of the School Travel Forum, a not-for-profit organisation which sets the benchmark for health and safety standards of travel companies, and subsequently awards the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge.

This week, the Department for Education (DfE) has released new guidance “Health and safety on educational visits” which fully endorses the guidelines that the STF have been working within for the past 16 years; We have been assured members of the STF for the last 6 years. This recognises that our health and safety standards are the gold standard for school trips.

We completely support the advice that is given by the DfE and will continue to lead the way in ensuring safety in school travel.  Going forward, we would like to reassure you that we are in compliance with all areas mentioned in this report, and we would encourage schools to always to look for the LOtC Quality Badge when finding a school travel provider.
